WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT WE BELIVE IN.
Kayser began back in 1925 when a farmer in Fitchburg, Wisconsin decided to sell his new motor horse Henry Ford built. Paul Kayser, our founder, was the son of a Madison mayor and graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. We have built a website that shares our entire history at www.Kayserpromise.com. Please check it out for a full rundown of our history.
In 1956 Paul sold Kayser Ford Inc. to Ken Kimport, a long-time Kayser employee. Ken moved the dealership from its downtown Madison location to where the dealership sits now, just off the Beltline in Madison. Patrick Baxter, another Kayser Employee, bought the dealership from Ken Kimport in 1985 when Ken decided to retire. Patrick ran the business for over 30 years, and expanded the company into new markets like Sauk City, Watertown, and Green Bay. In 2020, Patrick's four children Sean, Ryan, Brendan, and Bridget purchased the company from their father, and since then have nearly doubled the size of the company.Â
Today, the business is led by brothers, Sean, Ryan, and Brendan Baxter, and is a collection of 8 dealerships representing all major domestic brands in five primary Wisconsin markets: Madison, Janesville, Sauk City, Green Bay, and Watertown.
